Denise Inman, PhD
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
Denise Inman earned her doctorate in neuroscience with a focus on spinal cord injury and neurotrauma at the University of Virginia, then continued her training with post-doctoral fellowships in regeneration then neurodegenerative disease at the University of California, San Francisco and the University of Washington in Seattle, respectively. She was recruited to the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Northeast Ohio Medical University in 2012 to continue her work on the mechanisms of neurodegeneration in the context of the leading cause of irreversible blindness, glaucoma. Research in Dr. Inman’s laboratory focuses on the role of mitochondria in early physiological changes in retinal ganglion cell function in glaucoma, as well as neural-glial interactions in the course of glaucoma development and progression.
